South East Coast Ambulance Service, known as SECAmb, was formed in 2006, following the merger of Kent, Surrey and Sussex ambulance trusts.

It is one of 10 ambulance services operating in England and covers a resident population of more than 4.9 million.

It’s decided to join forces with South Central Ambulance Service which covers Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire.

We’re told both Trusts will continue to operate independently while collaborating on things like workforce development.

The transition to the new South Central and South East Ambulance Group will take place in phases from now through to 2027.
