Students from the University of Surrey are preparing to launch a small satellite called Jovian-O from a spaceport in Oman.

The satellite, the size of a shoebox and designed and built by students, carries cameras to take pictures of Earth and look for space debris.

The project is part of a student training programme giving real experience in the space industry to help fill job skills gaps in the UK.

After launch, the satellite will send back data to Earth, and more student missions are planned for the future.
