Strike action has been called off at the South London and Maudsley NHS Trust after a 17% pay offer.

GMB members working as cleaners and caterers were due to walk out for eight days, at sites including Lambeth Hospital in Clapham.

Helen O’Conner, from the union, says it “signifies that the domestics and hostesses are finally being heard”.

The offer still needs to be approved by union members.
