Police were called to an incident in Croydon town centre last night, where a small group of young people were causing antisocial behaviour.
This was not a planned attack as seen elsewhere in the UK and, thanks to the swift action of the police, the group was dispersed within an hour.
Ten arrests were made, one for assault on an emergency worker, four for violent disorder, four for breaching a Section 35 dispersal order and one for going equipped for arson.
No property was targeted or damaged. Council street cleaning crews attended after the disturbance to clean up any debris.
We are continuing to work alongside our Croydon community leaders and the police, who are monitoring the situation.
At this time, there is no police intelligence of any further incidents in the borough. Any incidents should be reported to the police.
