Staff at Epsom and Ewell Borough Council are to be paid the Real Living Wage of £14.80 per hour from April.

This remains the only UK wage rate calculated on the cost of living.

The council has set its final budget before devolution next year.

Its 11 district and borough councils will be dismantled and two unitary authorities will be created and known as East and West Surrey.
