The Government confirmed earlier this week that Surrey will be split in to two East and West Unitary Authorities.
From April 2027, the county’s eleven district and borough councils, like Spelthorne, will not exist.
Cllr Joanne Sexton says the time frame is challenging.
The Government says its ambition is to simplify local government, by ending the two-tier system.
