Spelthorne Borough Council will no longer issue any taxi licenses until all documentation, including medicals, have been submitted.

The authority is looking to make changes to the way it deals with Private Hire vehicles and black cabs.

It also wants to introduce a time limit of six months for new drivers to complete their applications.

The council says it has been a recurring issue where new applicants can take extensive lengths of time to complete the process.
