So-called Houses of Multiple Occupation are leading to reports of anti-social behaviour across Spelthorne.

An HMO is a building rented to at least three people who are not connected to each other.

The council has introduced an Article 4 Direction in Staines, Stanwell North, and Ashford North and Stanwell South.

This means planning permission is needed for new HMOs.

A borough-wide Article 4 Direction will take effect in March next year.
