Six water companies – found guilty of the most serious pollution breaches – are now banned from paying bonuses to senior bosses.

It’s under new rules which prevent pay outs if firms don’t meet targets on the environment, consumer standards or finances.

There’s been growing public concern about sewage spills and rising customer bills.

Thames, Yorkshire, Anglian, Wessex and Southern Water, and United Utilities, are affected.
