Sir Ed Davey will appeal to US experts fleeing a so-called “anti-science agenda” to come to the UK and help with curing cancer.

The Lib Dem leader and MP for Kingston is expected to use his speech at the party’s conference to call for a dedicated scheme to attract American scientists.

Sir Ed is expected to warn that Donald Trump’s policies are the “biggest threat to the fight against cancer”.
