That’s according to Richmond Park MP, Sarah Olney, who reported the company to Ofcom last month.
She took the step of reporting the company following numerous complaints about late and missing post.
She said Royal Mail has breached its Universal Service Obligation and she asked Ofcom to rectify the situation.
However, she has now paid the sorting office a visit and says she’s “pleasantly surprised” by what she saw.
Miss Olney says staff who were absent for long periods have returned to work and new hiring practices are being put in place.
She says the situation in North Kingston should improve soon.
