Richmond’s libraries will be lit up tonight in solidarity with Spellow Library in Liverpool, which was destroyed during the summer riots.

It’s due to open its doors to the public tomorrow after months of refurbishment works.

The ‘Share the Light’ event aims to spotlight the essential role libraries play across the country.

The community of Liverpool set out to raise £5,000 to repair Spellow but ended up with an extraordinary £250,000.
