Permeable pavements have been installed in Kitson Road to reduce the risk of flooding and heavy rainfall impacting surrounding houses.
Permeable pavements are designed to allow water to pass through their surface and into the ground below, rather than running off them.
Infrastructure under the pavements is now capable of storing more than 100 cubic metres of water.
This means water will also be slowed as it reaches the sewers to help ease pressure on the system during peak rainfall.
