Richmond Council says the government’s proposed Fair Funding reforms would see it lose up to £45 million every year.

Bosses say the authority would be the worst-hit in the country by percentage.

They have written to the Secretary of State for Housing, and MP for Croydon North, Steve Reed.

They’re seeking protocol for judicial review to challenge the consultation process and subsequent decision of the review.

The Government’s Fair Funding Review 2.0 consultation opened in June.

Ministers say their proposals will ensure funding is targeted effectively at the places and services that need it most.
