Researchers at the University of Surrey have built an AI system that can tell a vehicle’s location without GPS.

‘PEnG’ uses cameras and images from satellites and streets to pinpoint positions accurately, even in cities or tunnels.

It could help self-driving cars and delivery robots navigate when GPS signals fail.

The system works with regular cameras and is now being turned into a working prototype.
