After beating the Brit 7-6 1-6 6-1, he’ll face Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut on Wednesday in the second round.

It’s been a better day for Dan Evans – who shocked world number 13 Frances Tiafoe ((pron: tee-ah-fo)) in straight sets.

He beat the US Open semi-finalist 7-5 6-2.

In the final match of the day in the Andy Murray Arena, Jacob Fearnley defeated Australia’s Alex Bolt.

The Brit won 6-2 6-4 in his first match at Queen’s.
