Private landlords in Croydon are facing tougher licensing rules.

It’s part of the council’s five-year Housing Strategy to ensure the private and social sectors are well- managed and safe.

The first of the proposed schemes is a selective licencing scheme to improve poor property conditions.

This would require all private landlords to hold a Croydon Property Licence and meet certain requirements.

This would include six monthly property inspections.
