A man has been arrested in connection with three incidents of sexual assault in which teenage girls were touched while walking near Clapham Common.

The incidents happened on Wednesday, the 8th of January and two on Thursday, the 23rd of January and involved three teenage girls.

Detective Chief Inspector Amanda Prince, who is leading the investigation, said:

“We are working at pace to investigate these incidents, which must have been extremely alarming and distressing for the victims, and we continue to support them.

“Yesterday evening we arrested a 22-year-old man who remains in custody. I would urge anyone with more information or who may have been a victim to come forward.

“I’m thankful to the two girls who have already bravely contacted police, and anyone who has any information, no matter how small, is asked to call us on 101 quoting Operation Immegrap or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
