People submitting planning applications to Elmbridge Borough Council are facing a three week wait to hear back.

The authority says it is experiencing a backlog in checking new applications.

The formal request is submitted to a council for permission to carry out developments on properties.

Elmbridge is thanking residents for their patience while the delays are cleared.
