People in Surrey are being urged to have their say on devolution plans for the county.

Surrey County, Elmbridge, and Mole Valley councils propose two new unitary councils, East Surrey and West Surrey,

They will work with an elected Mayor and a Strategic Authority.

The plan aims to simplify services, save money, and improve community engagement, supported by local partners.

A seven-week government consultation is now open, with a public event on July 7; details are on Surrey County Council’s website.
