It’s ahead of a review by NHS South West London on how treatment is provided across the borough.

Sleep apnoea is a potentially serious condition that causes breathing to stop and start several times during sleep.

In Richmond, residents receive care from two providers: the Sleeping Disorders Centre and St George’s Hospital in Tooting.

A proposal is now considered to bring the Sleeping Disorders Centre’s NHS sleep apnoea service in line with the model used at St George’s.

Under this proposal, St George’s would become the sole NHS‑commissioned provider for sleep apnoea care in the borough.
