People in Croydon may soon have to live in the borough for six years before they can join the social housing register.

The council is looking at upping the requirement from the current three years.

It’s because of a rise of nearly 18% in social housing applications over the last year.

Additionally, the Council is also planning to set a processing time for housing applications from 10-days to 30 working days.
