People are being warned not to approach seals they come across in the Thames.

Surrey Police has issued the warning against seal “disturbances” following several reports.

These include repeated disturbances, and in some cases, threats against the marine mammals.

Anyone who sees a seal being harmed is asked to contact police.

A popular seal, named after the late Queen singer Freddie Mercury, had to be put down in 2021 after he was attacked by a dog near Hammersmith Bridge.
