Parents buying a Labubu doll are being urged to make sure it’s genuine, after dozens of fakes were seized.
Trading Standards officers in London raided shops selling counterfeit versions of the monster-like toys, expected to be a best-seller this Christmas.
They’re warning the non-genuine versions could pose a fatal choking hazard for children.
The news comes just weeks after Sutton Council issues a similar warning to residents.
Sutton Council’s Trading Standards team is alerting residents to a rise in dangerous, counterfeit Labubu dolls. Fuelled by the brand’s online popularity, these fake toys pose serious safety risks, particularly for children.
Between July and August 2025, Trading Standards officers from Kingston and Sutton seized over 230 suspected counterfeit dolls.
