They’re being introduced at Memorial Gardens in Virginia Water, Woodlands in Chertsey, Chertsey Library and Waspe Farm in Egham.
Drivers are being urged to ensure any parking permits and blue badges are clearly displayed in their windscreen.
The council says they won’t be recognised electronically and therefore must be physically displayed.
The council has reached agreement with schools where the nearby carpark is used for short-term drop-off and pickup at specific times of day but parents must display their parking permits.
The council says parking charges themselves will not change, and the revenue will continue to be reinvested in maintaining the borough’s parking facilities, to ensure they are well-maintained.
If drivers have any problems with the new system, they can contact Parking Services on 01932 838383: parking@runnymede.gov.uk.
