More than £100,000 worth of illegal vapes have been seized across Hammersmith and Fulham over the past four years.

Nearly £24,000 worth have been taken off the streets in the last 7 months alone.

The borough has been part of a series of national raids, codenamed Operation Machinize 2.

It targeted 2,700 shops with 924 arrests and £10.7million worth of illegal goods, including vapes and tobacco, seized.

It has led to 450 businesses being investigated by Companies House.

Rachael Herbert, director of the National Crime Agency’s economic crime unit, said: “Depriving criminals of their source of income has a real impact, limiting the amount of funds they can reinvest in further offending, and deterring them from taking spaces on our high street that could be used by legitimate businesses.”
