Merton’s Liberal Democrats are again calling for a youth summit to help tackle the mental health crisis in children and teenagers.

Wimbledon’s MP, Paul Kohler, claims 7,000 8 to19 year olds are living with a mental health condition in the borough.

The summit would hear from youngsters who have experienced a crisis and detail where to find help and early intervention.

Mr Kohler says he is backing the summit, which has already been declined by the council, because of his personal experience.
