Merton’s efforts in tackling the effects of climate change have been recognised at a national level.

The council has been ranked as one of the top performing authorities by Climate Emergency UK which has published its new scorecards.

Merton’s improved on its 2023 score by 7%, taking its overall score to 67%, whilst the UK average is 38%.

Merton’s cabinet member for climate change, Eleanor Stringer, explains just one of the ways they’ve bettered their rating.
