Merton Council says it has a zero-tolerance approach when it comes to criminal behaviour and vandalism.

It’s after a man was charged by police last week with a number of counts relating to alleged disorder in the Abbey Road area.

The authority is trialling a new traffic scheme with road closures and automatic number plate recognition cameras installed.

Merton says the scheme will only remain in place if it is deemed to be successful and helps combat “rat-running.”
