Merton Council says emergency works are underway to clear streets of fallen trees and debris.

It’s after Storm Eowyn swept through the UK over the weekend with Storm Herminia now causing problems.

Highways and parks inspectors are monitoring high-risk trees across the borough with roads and pavements being prioritised.

Any trees that fall will be replaced in the next planting season and those with minor damage may be pruned or partially cut back.
