Merton Council is being given more than £25,000 to rid the streets of chewing gum.

The money is coming from the Chewing Gum Task Force, which is overseen by environmental charity, Keep Britain Tidy.

It’ll be spent on cleaning roads across Wimbledon, Morden, and Colliers Wood.

Gum manufacturers, including Mars Wrigley, fund the initiative with a commitment of up to £10 million given to projects over five years.
