Jason Perry has issued the below statement after the remains of 38 year old Sarah Mayhew were discovered in a park last Tuesday.
A man from Sutton and a woman from Croydon are in court today charged with her murder and the prevention of the lawful and decent burial of a body.
Mr Perry’s statement in full.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Sarah Mayhew at this very distressing time.
Sarah was named by police following the discovery in Rowdown Fields, New Addington.
This tragedy has left our whole community shocked.
We are supporting the police in their investigations, as well as the local community who are understandably very concerned by this tragic incident.
