Two-year-old Awaab Ishak died after being exposed to mould at his home in Rochdale in Greater Manchester in December 2020.
Croydon Council, like all others nationwide, is preparing for the introduction of Awaab’s Law on the 27th.
Landlords will have 10 working days to investigate reports, three days to share the findings, and five days to make homes safe if there is a serious risk.
If repairs cannot be done in time, they must provide residents with safe temporary housing.
Croydon’s damp and mould policy has been updated to meet the new rules.
