The council says it’s in part thanks to a £9.3million investment in 2,500 CCTV cameras and its specialised Gangs Unit.
The camera network helped secure 755 arrests alone last year according to the authority.
Councillors have also recently introduced new rules to help stop aggressive begging in the borough following feedback from residents.
