Kingston and Surbiton MP Sir Ed Davey’s calling on the Foreign Secretary to summon the Chinese ambassador after a Lib Dem MP was deported from Hong Kong.

Wera Hobhouse went out on Thursday to visit her son – who’s lived there since 2019 – and her new grandson.

She was detained at the airport, questioned and put on a flight back to the UK.

Ms Hobhouse says her son was left waiting at arrivals, while Sir Ed called it “heartless” and “totally unacceptable”
