It’s thought a fire in Richmond over the weekend was accidently caused by the failure of an extension lead.

40 firefighters were called to a pub along Church Court just before 6:30pm on Saturday.

It’s reported the fire was in the basement, which was mostly damaged by the blaze.

An LFB spokesperson’s reminded people not to overload extension leads and to fully unwind drum leads to avoid overheating.
