It’s reported that pet neglect has risen by 19% in Surrey.

The RSPCA has recorded 855 neglect cases in the county so far this year, as reports across England and Wales rise 30%.

The charity has launched The Big Give Back to Animals appeal to raise funds for rescuers dealing with the surge.

Rescued animals in Surrey include Jasmine, an 11-year-old dog ready for adoption, and Jaffa, a cat saved from squalid conditions.

The RSPCA urges residents adopt to help protect animals facing neglect this winter.
