Firefighters were called to an independent living facility for the elderly in the early hours of Thursday.
Four people were evacuated, and one man was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
Part of a second-floor flat was destroyed, and the cause of the blaze is under investigation by the Met Police and LFB.
