Improvements at Walton station have finally been completed, after almost two years of work.

The enhancements include a footbridge, the widening of Platform 1 to accommodate a new lift, and CCTV for added security.

Funded by the Department of Transport, the £6 million project is part of the ‘Access for All’ scheme, launched in 2006.

MP for Esher and Walton, Monica Harding, says this is only the beginning, with stations such as Hersham also in need of repair.
