Hundreds of books have been dumped outside a former library in Croydon.

Squatters had been occupying Broad Green Library, which is due to be turned into a community centre.

But it’s emerged that it was actually the council’s contractors who left the books outside the property following the clean-up.

Mayor of Croydon Jason Perry says the situation is “unacceptable” and the council will be dealing with the contactors involved.

Although, he didn’t name them.
