Over 3,000 tonnes of rubbish were dumped on the borough’s roads with cleanups costing taxpayers around £370,000 annually.
As of this week, those caught dropping rubbish or dumping bulky items will face the maximum penalty allowed under the law.
It equates to a £1,000 fine for fly tipping, and a £500 fine for littering, which includes not picking up after a dog or dropping a cigarette.
