Hounslow Council has become the first authority in west London to launch a coffee pod recycling service.

Only two other councils in London currently provide similar schemes for the pods which aren’t routinely accepted as recycled waste.

The new service is being run in partnership with Podback which is a not-for-profit recycling organisation.

Residents will soon be able to recycle their plastic or aluminium coffee pods at home by signing up for free on the Podback website.
