The Hogarth Prize will see amateur, emerging and established artists and makers from across the UK submit their work for display.

Around 80 pieces will be showcased between July and September with the winner netting £3,000 and their own exhibition at the house.

The former home of the world-renowned artist, William Hogarth, holds the largest display of his work in the UK.

We’re told e fees will be kept low at £16 for one submission and £24 for two, ensuring accessibility for artists at varying stages of their careers.

Alongside the main award, Hounslow Council is launching a dedicated Schools Exhibition, inviting schools across Hounslow to submit artwork created by pupils.

These works, produced on artist postcards, will be exhibited at Hogarth’s House for a month ahead of the art prize finalists’ exhibition.

Cllr Salman Shaheen Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Public Spaces at Hounslow Council, said: “‘My picture is my stage,’ William Hogarth once wrote. Now, in honour of his legacy, of which we are proud custodians through Hogarth’s House, we are giving a stage to artists from across the UK through this new prize.

“It is my hope that the Hogarth Prize will nurture talent nationwide and give artists a major new platform to showcase their work, establishing Hounslow as a place that treasures art and champions creative works.

“We see this prize growing year after year, with the Hogarth Prize standing proudly alongside the Turner Prize and the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition, in years to come.”
