Heathrow based British Airways’ parent firm is investing in a company that plans to convert used tyres into jet fuel.

International Airlines Group says its funding will help Wastefront to begin construction on a £100million factory.

It will produce sustainable aviation fuel in Sunderland.

The plant’s expected to begin operating from next year.
