Heathrow Airport’s blaming the introduction of a government scheme for a decline in passenger numbers.

They were down by around 90,000 on certain routes for passengers who are required to pay for electronic travel authorisation.

Nearly 8 million passengers travelled through Heathrow airport last month making it Europe’s busiest in the first half of the year.
