Over £80 million is available to airlines to help bridge the cost gap between traditional kerosene and sustainable aviation fuel known as SAF,

Heathrow says it is setting an “ambitious target” to go 2% beyond the UK’s 3.6% SAF mandate this year.

Bosses are currently working on their 3rd runway planning application.

It’s after the government said they could press ahead with the projected £49 billion expansion.

But those against expansion say the impact on climate change and the demolition of some villages in the area is too high a price to pay.
