Somerset bowler Sonny Baker and Hampshire all-rounder Liam Dawson are among five cricketers to be awarded central contracts by England for the first time.

Lancashire pair Saqib Mahmood and Luke Wood, and Surrey’s Jamie Overton have also been given 12 month deals.

Twenty-two-year-old Jacob Bethell, who became the country’s youngest ever captain in September, gets a two-year contract, but Jonny Bairstow and Jack Leach miss out.
