The England and Australian men’s second teams came face to face at the Twickenham Stoop this afternoon.

Heyes opened up the scoring for the hosts after six minutes but Australia took the lead just four minutes later through a converted try: Reimer and Lynagh the points scorers.

The visitors pulled away with a penalty kick from Lynagh and going into half time Australia lead England by five points.

Harlequins’ Murley did what he does best on home turf and scored a try, levelling the scores.

England started to find their rhythm and tries from Langdon and Fisitau, both converted, saw the hosts lead 24-10.

Australia did not sit back, and given the opportunity, van Nek forced his way over the line; converted.

The final points, however, came from England with scores from Muir with an intercept try and Murley crossing for his brace.
