For the first time ever – a long-haul commercial plane will fly across the Atlantic using only plant-based fuel.

Used cooking oil and other products will power the test flight from Heathrow to New York’s JFK airport.

Holly Boyd-Boland is from Virgin Atlantic – which is running the test:

But experts say the fuel is not sustainable long-term, due to the farmland needed to produce the oil.
