Firefighters were called to a blaze at a block of flats in Carshalton last night.

Twenty-five firefighters attended a four-storey block on Muschamp Road just before 7 pm.

Part of a three-room flat on the third floor was damaged by the fire.

One man left the building before the brigade arrived, and there are no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
